Are things becoming unmanageable?
Are you feeling isolated? Are you lacking true connection with others? Struggling to balance your physical and mental health & facing daily anxiety or depression?
Do you have a child or teen who is struggling? You have tried everything you can think of to help them, and nothing is working. In fact, it seems to be getting worse. You are worried about them and imagining worse case scenarios.
Sometimes life throws us situations we never imagined for ourselves.
The death of a parent, spouse, or best friend. Frequent calls from your child’s teacher about their “bad behavior.” Your teen suddenly acting out in ways you didn’t expect.
You’re not alone.
You’re not alone, and you or your child don’t have to go through these experiences alone, either. Together, we’ll find ways to cope with the days where it feels too hard to get out of bed, to explore what feelings are coming up when you’re crying alone in the shower, or to come up with strategies to see the “good” in your child.
You have come to the right place.
I work with kids, teens, individuals, and families who are stuck and hurting. Many of my clients are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, behavior issues, relationships, and self esteem. Others have struggled with drug & alcohol abuse, or have gone through a traumatic experience and need help with healing.
I use age appropriate, research proven techniques, to help my clients feel more calm, confident and happy.
My Education and Roots
I was born and raised as first-generation in Santa Cruz, CA. I’ve always been curious and
passionate about people, relationships, and how to best uplift the mental health in my
community.
I earned an associate degree in psychology in 2016 and took several years to
enhance my personal and professional skills through traveling, working in community-based environments and nurturing my values. In 2018, I attended CSU, Chico to complete my bachelor’s degree in psychology. Here I earned honors recognition and participated in various community opportunities on and off campus. In 2023, I completed my master’s degree in Marriage and Family therapy with distinction.
I have previous experience as a clinic coordinator for a free university clinic and working for a non-profit organization. I passionate about working with individuals who are ready to embrace the therapeutic process of exploring, healing, and growing. I have experience working with individuals ages 6-62 and enjoy supporting individuals and families in all stages of their lives.
More About Me
I have been practicing therapy for the past 5 years, but my love for helping others has been lifelong. When I am not working, I like being out in nature and connecting with friends and loved ones.
I enjoy jumping in rivers, hiking, crafting, dancing, live music, the farmers market and taking the scenic route on road trips. I like to dedicate my time nurturing self-care and connection with myself and my Chico community. I cherish the times I get to visit my hometown to embrace my family and keep traditions alive.
In addition, I love to travel! I spent my childhood visiting relatives in Europe. I have so much gratitude for my cultural experiences around the world.
The following are areas I specialize in:
- Anxiety and Depression
- Relationship & Family Conflict
- Kids & Teens & Play Therapy
- Trauma
- Life Transitions & Stress Management
